Jungle project

Jungle project

In Germany, only 0.7% of the total area is currently covered with protected forest.

If we want to protect the climate and the environment, we need more forests - now!

EVERY TREE COUNTS!!

Our forest academy Ab-in-den-Wald here in NRW also wants to start a primeval forest project. For this we are looking for suitable forest areas and many interested and committed participants.

Do you have ideas? Do you want to be involved?

Then get in touch with us - we look forward to hearing from you!

What is a jungle project?

We basically don't have any primeval forests left in Germany. Here in the district of Gütersloh there are only a few forest areas and they are very small. What we know as forest is actually more of a tree plantation intended for forestry. These are often privately owned and unfortunately often managed very extensively.

Peter Wohlleben and his Forest Academy have launched a primeval forest project in the Eifel region. (see below)

Through this primeval forest project, a forest area is leased from the owner and then subleased in small plots - similar to a cooperative. The primeval forest project in the Eifel is currently aiming for a project duration of 50 years. The forest here therefore has the next 50 years to regenerate and at the same time actively supports us in climate protection. The rental income also creates a win-win situation for the forest owners.
